The Affordable Art Fair Singapore will take place from 18th to 20th November at the F1 Pit Building, marking its return after a three-year hiatus.
For the 15th installation, it will feature 80 local and international galleries from 21 countries. The fair will showcase thousands of artworks by more than 650 emerging and established artists, ranging from modern oil paintings to life-size sculptures.
According to Alan Koh, the fair’s director, “After a three-year break, we are delighted to bring the Fair back to our art-loving audience in Singapore. Galleries near and far have been supportive and excited with the reopening of Singapore from the pandemic, and we are ready to help thousands of artworks find happy homes.”
The Affordable Art Fair Singapore 2022 will also see the return of previous exhibitors, including Utterly Art REDSEA Gallery, Quantum Contemporary Art, Art Forum, and The Tolman Collection Tokyo, the largest publisher of contemporary Japanese graphics. Wasuka Art from Singapore and Once Gallery from Beijing will also make their fair debuts this year.
The list of artists’ work will be displayed during the fair includes the following:
- American contemporary artist Shepard Fairey’s limited edition silkscreen and screen prints.
- Emerging Beijing artist Wanlin Jianguses denim as a medium to create delicate landscapes. She finds creative ways to make art that can benefit the environment and addresses sustainability by using accessible and reused materials. The artist has shown at Art Taipei.
- Cheo Chai Hiang is a pioneer Singaporean artist who popularised interactive art in Singapore in the 1980s and 90s. He has exhibited at the National Museum of Singapore and Singapore Art Museum, where ‘Three Long and Two Short Clogs’ was displayed.
