Usually, we have to wait weeks, if not months, for designer collaborations to be released before we catch the first glimpse, but not with the new Balenciaga and Adidas collaboration. The legendary companies launched their collaborative efforts at Balenciaga’s resort 2023 catwalk show in New York City on Sunday, May 22, and it was immediately made shoppable on Balenciaga’s website. And as we all guessed—they’re selling out fast.

Demna Gvasalia, the house’s creative director, announced it at the full-house show in New York City. Adidas’ trademark triple-stripe design is effortlessly combined with Balenciaga’s voluminous shapes in the 33-piece collection. From bulging sweatpants to enormous shoes, it’s a high-street fashion match made in heaven that’s sure to sell out.
The collection of collectable designs also includes a NYSE T-shirt to commemorate the unforgettable display. ICYMI, the models took over the New York Stock Exchange’s trading floor for the first time ever wearing latex, face-covering bodysuits.
Adidas has developed a serious interest in luxury in recent years, collaborating with companies such as Prada and, recently, Gucci. The Triple S has come in not just a black and white colouring, but also a blue-dominant variation. Both include typical adidas branding, including the Three Stripes on the side and the Trefoil on the heel tab.
The remainder of the shoe stays loyal to the high fashion brand’s design, preserving what has been so popular over the years. In addition, the two have collaborated on a basic edition of the Speed Trainer, which features Three Stripes detailing and the collection’s co-branded emblem on the collar.
