G-SHOCK has unveiled its latest model with Rui Hachimura, marking the third collaboration with the NBA professional player.
The third signature model pays homage to Rui Hachimura’s birthplace, the Tateyama Mountain Range in Toyama prefecture.
“I designed this third model based on the image of the Tateyama Mountains in my hometown of Toyama, a place that holds fond memories for me, with the bright colours and great view of Tateyama as a motif. I hope you all enjoy it!” said Hachimura, who is the first Japanese-born player to be selected in the first round of the NBA draft.
Inspired by the melting snow of the Japanese Alps, the G-SHOCK x Rui Hachimura watch features an icy blue and white colour scheme. While the base model of the three LCD sub-dial and front button DW-6900 is adorned with imagery of the mountain range, which has been meticulously replicated in multi-angle print (MAP) across the entire watch.
At the back, it showcases Hachimura’s original logo, which was based on his jersey number and the Japanese character of his name. The piece also displays a playful twist with its flash alert, which flashes with the sound of an on-court buzzer for alarms, hourly time signals, and a countdown timer.
Aside from its eye-catching design, the G-SHOCK timepiece includes a full suite of features such as shock resistance, an electro-luminescent backlight, a 1/100-second stopwatch, a countdown timer, multi-function alarms, and hourly time signals with a full auto-calendar in 12/24 hour format.
The DW-6900RH-2DR watch is priced at $189 and will be available for purchase on its official website and at all G-SHOCK stores from 18th January 2023.
