City Square Mall, the first-ever eco-mall in Singapore, is undergoing a S$50 million major renovation with modernised interior and new features, slated to be completed in the first half of next year.

This renowned shopping destination, nestled at the junction of Serangoon and Kitchener Roads, is nearly completing the first phase of its makeover.

As part of the transformation, an additional 26,000 square feet of new areas have been added to the 11-storey mall, offering a new food concept, retail area, community-based initiatives, and sustainable features.

The New Dining Concepts

The phase one renovation of City Square Mall emphasises on delivering a gastronomic adventure for shoppers. Aside from improving the Basement 1 drop-off point, the food stalls located at Basements 1 and 2 will feature new offerings, including Jie Traditional Bakery, Munchi Pancakes, Taning (挞柠), and Towkay Fried Chicken.

The Food Republic which will be relocated from Level 4 to Basement 3, is set to open in May, featuring a nostalgic decor. Visitors can look forward to tantalise your taste buds with local delicacies from Hjh Maimunah Mini, Li Xin Teochew Fish Ball Noodles, Thye Hong Fried Prawn Noodles and more.

While Level 4 will be transformed into Gastro Square, a culinary paradise spanning over 24,000 sq ft. As the name aptly suggests, it will offer a variety of gastronomic delicacies which include local and international delights, catering to an eclectic tastes palette.

A Premier Destination to Promote Community as a Family-Friendly Hub

The City Square Mall will be outfitted with a Community/Sports Facilities Scheme on Level 4, offering a variety of youth and family-oriented programming. Further information about these programs will be made public in the future. A dedicated Performance Area will be built on the same floor which offers a conducive setting for events, social gatherings and cultural activities. 

The integration of Repurposed Materials to Encourage Sustainability

Adhering to its commitment to sustainability initiatives, City Square Mall will incorporate recycled materials into its new interior decorations. From Basement 4 to Level 6, lift lobbies and wall finishes will be refurbished with a collection of wall murals made of eco-friendly, sustainable decorative materials.

Shoppers can continue to visit City Square Mall despite the renovation, which is expected to be finished in the first half of next year, as their favourite establishments will remain open and operational.
