The 56th Golden Bell Awards held on October 2 this year managed to create a buzz with “The Magician on the Skywalk “(天橋上的魔術師)” bagged six awards and Christopher Lee was awarded the Best Actor twice. Although the ceremony this year recorded less submission compared to last year, with only 192 entries. The nominees have set the bar high and the competition is tougher than ever. If you miss out on the actual events or even the highlights, fret not because Glitz has all the essential tea of the star-studded night. The ceremony was held at the usual venue, Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall and over 40 awards were given to the nominees. A legion of celebrities including Camille Chalons, Shih Ming-Shuai, Janet Hsieh and Michael Wang were present during the award ceremony.

Highlights of the 56th Golden Bell Awards Taiwan
For those who stay tuned during the star studded award ceremony, you will surely know the highlights of the event. With the worth mention fashion moment of Janet Hsieh to the actor, Lee Yi-Chiao being the youngest winner of the 56th Golden Bell Awards, this year ceremony didn’t fail to impress us.
Christopher Lee Won The Best Actor Twice
Indeed, it was a very special moment for the actor, Christopher Lee as he was awarded the Best Actor for the Miniseries or Television Film this year. His role in this HBO series, Workers has definitely impressed the industry. In fact his co-star, Simon Hsueh was also granted as the winner for the Best Supporting Actor in a similar category.
This is Lee second award as previously he won the Best Actor for drama series in 2014 for his role in A Good Wife. Despite not being able to physically attend the event, he expressed his gratitude to his fellow cast and the crew through video.
“I want to thank my wife, Fann, and my son, Zed. In particular, I’m really thankful to my wife. It is because of your dedication and your unconditional support that I feel at ease acting and filming dramas outside.” said Lee.
Chung Hsin-Ling was awarded the Best Actress award during the 56th Golden Bell Awards for her impeccable performance in U Motherbaker. Whereas, her co-star Darren Chiu bagged the Best Supporting Actor.
Lee Yi-Chiao, The Youngest Winner of the 56th Golden Bell Awards
Despite being relatively young, Lee Yi-Chiao managed to bag the Best New Talent in Television Series Award for his role in the highly rated series, The Magician on the Skywalk. The 12-year old actor is the youngest ever winner of the Golden Bell Awards.
The Magician on the Skywalk which is a fantasy and comedy drama is definitely the winner of the night. They managed to beat other nominees and won a whopping six awards out of the 14 nominations. They were awarded the best light design, best newcomer, best production design, best television series, best cinematography and best direction. The series which was adapted from a novel by Wu Ming-Yi centres around the story of children that live in a demolished shopping mall.
Janet Hsieh Killing the Red Carpet with Her Audrey Hepburn Inspired Gown
Once the red carpet was rolled out, the viewers were served with a major fashionable look by these celebrities. However, Janet Hsieh, a TV host turned actress has blown away people with her daring gown that pretty much reminds the viewers of Audrey Hepburn. The dress was designed by APUJAN, a Taiwan fashion label based in London and the dress was listed as one of the outfits for the spring and summer collection 2022.
The black dress features a high slit with a bare back design and Hsieh accessorized her look for the night with exquisite pieces of jewellery from De Beers. She also changed into a pastel pink dress that she bought years ago in Argentine. Needless to say, she swept everyone off their feet and her Audrey Hepburn-inspired look is the talk of the town. Despite not taking home the Best Supporting Actress Award for her role in the Adventure of the Ring, she expressed her gratitude for the nomination.
