When it comes to fashion collabs, Gucci truly knows the potential of a strong, solid partnership more than any other high-end brands out there. Given that the brand has collaborated with almost every notable fashion name such as Balenciaga, North Face, and even cartoon characters to street style artists—it clearly shows that they learn their consumers well.

Meanwhile, when it comes to high-street fitness brands, Adidas has a similar strategy for capturing attention of the many. So when the two announced major news saying that they’ll be working together, everyone was ecstatic. Unlike their Prada’s collaboration which centres around monochromatic footwear and bags, this latest Gucci x Adidas collaboration on the other hand, covers a whole range of bright, technicolour ensembles.

Set to drop on June 7th, here’s everything you need to know about the spectacular, old school, gym-junkie vibes collection. We here at Glitz by Beauty Insider will be calculating our spending budget!

The Gucci x Adidas collection, which was first seen on the FW22 “Exquisite Gucci” runway, is the consequence of Alessandro Michele‘s love for the old-school sportswear label. The collection is inspired by old sports catalogues and a retro look, and was shot against brilliantly coloured backdrops by photographer Carlijn Jacobs. As we understand, Michele’s oversized, ’80s-inspired wool knitwear come in a vibrant cerulean colorway and are embellished with Adidas’ signature three-stripe design and Adidas Originals’ trefoil insignia. Adidas’ renowned tracksuits, which have previously been worn by RUN-DMC, Melanie C of Spice Girls fame, and Ben Stiller’s fictitious Chas Tenenbaum, now have Gucci’s green and red side-stripe patterning on the sleeves.

Tailored pants and matching jackets have a dramatic print that combines Gucci’s “GG” symbol with Adidas’ own emblems, while cobalt polo shirts and preppy, Yale blue sweater vests are intended for off-court use. In summary, both companies’ a trio of stripes, which transcend across leisurewear and sports basics, plays such an important role to this outstanding collection.

For sneakers lovers, you’re in good hands—Alessandro Michele’s infatuation with the iconic Adidas Gazelle resulted in a fresh rendition of the well-known footwear. The leather Horsebit loafers are also a tipping hat for the footwear to dominate the collection. The Adidas Gazelle has already made its way onto Harry Styles’ feet. It’s no surprise

Also, it is no secret that Adidas has made a big commitment when it comes to fashion sustainability, and their cooperation upholds that pledge. Products are made from environmentally friendly materials such as polyester, cotton, and viscose. There are also GG canvas bucket hats and baseball caps manufactured from ECONYL regenerated nylon.

The full collection will be made available on June 9th, 2022, worldwide store. With Gucci confirming earlier this week that the Italian fashion house will soon accept cryptocurrencies as payment, it’s a sign that you should now invest in some Bitcoin craziness.
