Here’s A List Of Countries That Have Officially Lifted Quarantine-Requirements

No more fussy two weeks quarantine upon touching down
By: Aqilah Najwa Jamaluddin / April 14, 2022

Good news to the citizens of the world! We have officially entered the phase of the endemic. Which means life is slowly going back to normal—family gathering, lepak-ing with your friends at mamak until 12am, sipping wine till’ late night at your favourite rooftop bars, attending sporting events, concerts shows and recently the border has open its gate once again, welcoming travellers both national and internationally.

For Singaporeans, (aside from making your quick visit to Johor Bahru weekly), I know you’re eager to fly out outside the country. But the idea of having to quarantine between ten to twelve days in a compact hotel room, the fussy documents you had to deal with upon touching down are so time consuming and tiring. But the good news is, there’s indeed few countries that have officially lifted quarantine requirements.

That’s right, you won’t need to quarantine on arrival in these countries. As long as you’ve completed your vaccination, you’re very much welcome. For those who haven’t gotten your shot, you’re encouraged to. Scroll down to find out the country of your choice that offers no quarantine, and secure your flight seat ASAP.

Thailand

1. Thailand

The Land of Smiles is one among the first Asian countries to reopen to fully vaccinated visitors. Thailand’s officials declared earlier this year that the whole country’s borders will reopen to vaccinated travellers of all nations beginning 1 February 2022 under the “Test & Go” quarantine-free travel lane.

2. Australia

Since the beginning of the epidemic, Australia has been renowned for having one of the tightest border controls, travel restrictions, and COVID-19 preventative measures in the world. It’s also why Australians have been able to walk out without masks for months while Malaysia ordered national lockdowns last year. The country reopened its borders to all nations on February 21, 2022.

3. South Korea

South Korea has officially stated that they would welcome fully vaccinated visitors from most nations, including Singaporean and Malaysian, commencing April 1, 2022. To be given entrance for quarantine-free leisure travel, travellers must perform a pre-departure PCR test, report their vaccination history on their Q-Code system, and apply for a K-ETA.

4. United Kingdom

This is your chance to take a break and visit London. The United Kingdom has opened its borders to visitors from most nations, with the exception of those on its red list. And good news, if you’re completely vaccinated, you won’t even need to quarantine or do a COVID-19 test. All you need to do is provide proof of vaccination and a completed passenger locator form, which can be completed online ahead of your arrival in the UK.

Canada has also reopened its borders to visitors who have gotten the entire series of a COVID-19 vaccination that the government recognises. While the government said last year that it will not admit passengers who have received the Sinovac vaccine, they have increased their list of permitted vaccines in November 2021, so even if you have had the Sinovac vaccine, you are now welcome in Canada.

Furthermore, due to the seclusion of most hotels in the Maldives, visitors may easily enjoy a calm holiday away from the throngs here.
