Watching a movie is totally different when you’re at home, versus when you’re in the cinema. Going to the cinema for a movie is the perfect date idea and even a family bonding session. And for about two years, cinemas were shut down due to the pandemic, which makes movie watching even more anticipated. This June, we’re letting you in on all the movies currently showing in cinemas and some upcoming ones too.

1. Top Gun: Maverick

The Navy’s top aviator Pete “Maverick” Mitchell is back where he belongs after more than three decades of service, pushing the boundaries as a fearless test pilot and avoiding the promotion that would have grounded him. It is Maverick’s duty to train an elite group for a particular mission, which culminates in a mission that demands the ultimate sacrifice from those who choose to fly it.

2. The Lost City

Loretta Sage, a reclusive author who is well-known for her adventure novels featuring a handsome cover model named Alan, writes about exotic locales in her work. Loretta is kidnapped by an eccentric millionaire while on tour to promote her new book with Alan. He hopes she can lead him to an old city’s hidden treasure from her novel. Alan sets out to rescue her in order to prove that he can be a hero in real life and not just on the pages of her novels.

3. Sonic The Hedgehog 2

Once at Green Hills, Sonic wants to show that he’s capable of being a true hero. After a long absence, Dr. Robotnik and his new partner, Knuckles, return in search of the magical Emerald that can destroy entire civilizations. Sonic and Tails link up to travel the world in search of the emerald before it is stolen by the wrong people. They are joined by Sonic’s own sidekick, Tails.

4. Everything Everywhere All At Once

As the fate of the planet hangs in the balance, an unexpected hero must use her newfound skills to battle strange and perplexing threats from the multiverse.

5. Jurassic World Dominion

Dinosaurs are currently coexisting peacefully with humans all across the world, four years after the devastation of Isla Nublar. If humans are to remain apex predators on a world they now share with history’s most fearsome beasts, this delicate balance will have a profound impact on our future.

6. Chickenhare And The Hamster Of Darkness

In order to save his uncle from getting his hands on a powerful artefact, a daring young wildlife explorer teams up with two trusted buddies.

Film on the life of Queen Elizabeth II, the world’s longest-lived monarch and the longest-serving female head of state.

8. Vikram

An elite black ops unit is tasked with hunting down and eliminating a group of disguised killers.

When a group of pals went jetskiing for the weekend, they ended up in a head-on collision. With a gravely injured companion in tow, they try to make their way back to shore, but predators lurk in the depths below.

10. The Northman

When Prince Amleth’s father is brutally murdered by his uncle, who kidnaps the boy’s mother, the prince is on the point of becoming a man. As a Viking two decades later, Amleth raids Slavic settlements. There’s little doubt that his vows to save his mother, avenge father, and kill uncle will be brought to fruition as soon as he encounters a seer.

1. Ah Girls Go Army Again (June 16)

The film is set in a future where Singapore’s birth rate is falling, resulting in a shortage of boys capable of serving in the National Service. 14 Gen-Z girls from a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds comprise the film’s first group of female SAF recruits.

2. Lightyear (June 16)

After being stranded with his captain and crew on a hazardous planet 4.2 million light-years away from Earth, the iconic Space Ranger Buzz Lightyear embarks on an epic sci-fi action adventure.

3. George Michael Freedom Uncut (June 22)

Following the 1987 release of his solo debut “Faith,” then the creation and release of his 1990 follow-up “Listen Without Prejudice, Vol.1,” Michael’s life and career are chronicled during the turbulent – yet creatively successful period.

4. Elvis (June 23)

With his manager, Colonel Tom Parker, Elvis Presley rose to stardom in the 1950s and maintained a complex relationship.

5. Minions: The Rise Of Gru (June 30)

Young Gru tries to join a group of supervillains known as the Vicious 6 in the 1970s after its leader, the famed fighter Wild Knuckles, is ousted. Gru and his minions flee with the Vicious 6 on their trail after a humiliating interview. Fortunately, he comes across an unusual guide in the form of Wild Knuckles, and learns that even the most evil of people may benefit from a little support from their friends.

6. Thor: Love And Thunder (July 7)

In a quest for inner peace, Thor sets off on a voyage unlike any other. However, Gorr the God Butcher, a galactic killer who desires the destruction of the gods, interrupts his retirement. King Valkyrie, Korg, and Thor’s ex-girlfriend Jane Foster join forces to help defeat the menace. Jane also happens to be the only one who can wield Thor’s hammer. While on their way to uncovering the riddle of the God Butcher’s revenge, they meet up with a group of other adventurers who are also searching for answers.
