Chef Masaru Seki prepares a six-course meal ($258++ per person) for Valentine’s Day that includes one-of-a-kind dishes like round temari sushi with shrimp, kuromame (sweet black soybeans) with gold leaf and sous-vide wagyu steak ponzu jelly, tenbara (tempura and rice) with black truffles, and an indulgent sea urchin tempura and Kaviari Kristal caviar. 5. Sarai Fine Thai
Sarai Fine Thai is where the familiar meets the fancy. The five-course Valentine’s Day set meal (S$98 per person) begins with a hot Lab Hed (mushroom salad) and goong sarong (prawns encased in crunchy shredded pastry) presented with a zesty chilli sauce. Follow that with traditional tom yum goong before diving into kow pad khi kem (egg and salted egg yolk fried rice wrapped with crispy wild rice). The delicious finish is provided with kanom piak poon, or pandan coconut pudding stratified with soft coconut flesh.
