If you thought we left the billion-dollar blockbuster and cultural phenomenon AKA Greta Gerwig’s Barbie movie in 2023, think again. In an exciting announcement made by stylist Andrew Mukamal on his Instagram page, Margot Robbie’s international Barbie press tour looks will be immortalised in a coffee table book! The 160-page photo book is named ‘Barbie: The World Tour’. It’s a clear signal that the pink party is far from over.

Actress Margot Robbie, who both played the title character and produced the Barbie movie, has been making headlines all throughout 2023 and beyond with her Barbie-inspired press tour outfits styled by Mukamal. When this year’s awards season inevitably comes to a close, Robbie’s run as the iconic doll will follow suit. Since Barbie: The World Tour book will be available for purchase this March, we won’t have to say good bye to all the legendary looks Robbie sported on the pink carpet, referencing various Barbie dolls from the past.

Barbie: The World Tour will include never-before-seen Barbie-inspired outfits, unworn by Robbie due to the SAG-AFTRA strike cutting the press tour short. Still not sold? There will also be exclusive visuals from Mattel’s archives, designer illustrations, Polaroid snapshots, and enchanting collages from the Barbie realm, all curated by art director Fabien Baron. For an added personal touch, the book also contains reflections from Robbie, Mukamal, and an afterword by the movie’s director, Greta Gerwig. Barbie: The World Tour is an unmissable experience all on its own.

To celebrate yet another Barbie milestone, let’s take a look at some of Glitz’s favourite Barbie world tour outfits worn by the blonde bombshell. Collaborating closely with Chanel, Donatella Versace, and other massive names in fashion, Robbie and Mukamal infused high-fashion flair into recreating Barbie’s classic looks.

Our Favourite Barbie Looks (And The Dolls They’re Inspired By)

The First Barbie

Robbie showed up to a photo call in Bondi Beach, Australia, in style. She wore a striped Hervé Léger dress inspired by the Original Barbie from 1959—the doll that started it all.

Day to Night

During Barbie’s explosive premiere in Seoul, South Korea, Robbie donned two bright pink custom Versace looks. Both of these outfits, made with a lady on-the-go in mind, were inspired by the Day to Night Barbie from 1985.

Totally Hair

In a gorgeous, vibrant Emilio Pucci look, Robbie donned this get-up at a press tour in Mexico City. The look was inspired by the Totally Hair Barbie from 1992. If only Robbie’s hair had been just as long as the doll’s, it would have been even more iconic.

Enchanted Evening

Keeping it classy for the London premiere, Robbie wore a dreamy custom Vivienne Westwood dress inspired by the Enchanted Evening Barbie from 1960.

Superstar

Last but never least, Robbie’s most recent Barbie look was from the Golden Globes award ceremony that aired this month. She wore Armani Privé inspired by the Superstar Barbie from 1977. Fitting as the movie not only made Robbie a superstar, but a fashion icon for the ages.

Bonus: Superstar, But Make It Goth

A bonus look we can’t help but adore, Robbie sported the black version of the Superstar gown at the Golden Globes afterparty. The gothic dress was inspired by Black & Silver Shimmer Barbie from 1977.

On Mukamal’s Instagram post announcing Barbie: The World Tour, the caption read, “This book is a labour of love, dedicated to all the Barbie lovers and fashion fans around the world. Hope you enjoy.” Rest assured, we definitely will.

Barbie: The World Tour is due to hit shelves worldwide starting 19 March 2024. It’s available for pre-order on Amazon.
