1. National Gallery Singapore

Starting off strong with National Gallery Singapore, this is a visual arts institution that houses the world’s largest public collection of Singaporean and Southeast Asian modern art. The Gallery is spaced out over 64,000 square metres, so there’s plenty to explore. It’s also housed in two beautifully refurbished national monuments – City Hall and former Supreme Court, so even the architecture of the building is a work of art in itself. There are always events and temporary exhibitions happening at the Gallery, so be sure to check their website for what’s on. Plus, admission is free for locals!

2. Miaja Gallery

Located on the second floor of APS Building, right next to Robertson Quay, lies a contemporary art gallery founded iconic French interior designer, Isabelle Miaja. Founded in 2015, this gallery aims to bring inspiring and cross-cultural art to the local art community and general public. Truly one of the best art galleries in singapore, Miaja Gallery is home to art pieces from both local and international artists. It’s currently only open for private tours, but imagine having this incredible space all to yourself and your partner for an amazing date.

3. Singapore Art Museum

One of the wildest and craziest museums in Singapore, visiting Singapore Art Museum should definitely be on your bucket list. here are so many installations and art pieces to look at here at one of the best art galleries in Singapore, it’s so easy to get lost and spend the entire day just looking around. Located in Tanjong Pagar Distripark, there’s always something a new exhibition to check out. This is a relatively new space as it just opened in January 2022, as the Singapore Art Museum’s main buildings on Bras Basah Road and Queen Street are currently closed for renovations until 2026.

4. Mizuma Gallery

Consistently hailed as one of the best art galleries in Singapore, Mizuma Gallery is filled to the brim with paintings, photographs, and art pieces. First established in Tokyo in 1994 by Sueo Mizuma, he brought the gallery to Singapore to promote East Asian and Southeast Asian artists. This art gallery is best known for housing Japanese artworks. However, you can spend the entire day wandering around its perceptive halls just to discover international prominent and emerging artists from all over.

5. UOB Art Gallery

If you ever find yourself at the lobby of UOB Plaza 1, be sure to check out UOB Art Gallery. Give yourself some mind some quiet amongst the hustle and bustle, and let your imagination soar at this gallery. The gallery exhibits UOB’s painting of the year, as well as previous winners. Currently, UOB Art Gallery is showcasing artworks by Aaron Gan, the Gold Award winner of the 2015 UOB Painting of the Year (Singapore). His pieces mainly showcases showcases Chinese phrases and anecdotes, and they’re truly inspiring.

6. FOST Gallery

One of the best art galleries in Singapore and definitely one of our favourite places to explore, Fost Gallery is truly worth the trip. This gallery has been around for 17 years, and was founded by Stephanie Fong. They mainly feature progressive contemporary artists from Singapore, but they also have a collection of various artworks by international artists. Located in Gilman Barracks, this gallery also has organised talks, in addition to even publishing scholarly publications.

7.  Mulan Gallery

Feast your eyes on paintings, sculptures, ceramics – Mulan Gallery has got it all. This art gallery is nothing short of interesting, and it’s an amazing place to have an artsy date. Founded in 2008, this space features prominent artists like Mao Lizi, Kang Hyung Koo, Ken Mihara, and Singapore’s very own ceramicist, Dr Iskandar Jalil. It also houses artworks from various emerging talents, and the gallery currently exhibits pieces from over 40 artists. This art gallery is also dedicated to showcasing Singapore’s talented printmakers and ceramicists, so be sure to check out their huge portfolio of local artworks.
