Come for the insanely small price tag, stay for the insane flavour and texture of the noodles. The restaurant says that they are hearty, tasty and wallet-friendly, and boy, do they mean it. $4 for 15 dumplings? Sign us up! Since their prices are so low, you can stuff yourselves to the brim, just like their dumplings. Not to mention, their lanzhou beef noodles and other noodle dishes are only about $4 – $5 too, so they’re definitely worth checking out.

When the kitchen looks like that, you know it’s good. But brace yourself – this spot is only open from Wednesday to Saturday, 10am to 2.30pm. Toa Payoh Hwa Heng Beef Noodles is run by an elderly couple who’s been serving up some of the best lanzhou beef noodles in Singapore for years, and they’re definitely known for it. Its popularity and short opening hours make for very long queues, but trust us, they’re so worth the wait.
