Have the Time of Your Life at the Best Theme Parks in Singapore

We're all young at heart!
By: Astrid Zulhaime / June 13, 2024

Eventually, everyone gets tired of visiting the same shopping malls over and over again. To switch things up, why not organise a day at a theme park? Don’t worry, children aren’t a requirement; we’re all young at heart and deserve the thrill of rollercoaster rides, the excitement of live performances, and the joy of exploring fun exhibitions. Theme parks offer a refreshing break from routine, letting you dive into a world of adventure and imagination. Whether you’re looking for high-speed thrills, interactive shows, or immersive themed environments, Singapore has some of the best theme parks around, with something for everyone. Here are our favourites to get you started on planning an unforgettable day out.

The Best Theme Parks in Singapore

1. Universal Studio Singapore

Do you remember that period of time when everyone and their mothers were travelling to Singapore to experience Southeast Asia’s first and only Universal Studios theme park? The amusement park was so hyped up that we’re willing to bet that it’s been a while since you made a return trip, but we encourage you to do exactly that. With more than 20 themed attractions, you’ll come face-to-face with all of your favourite cartoon characters, including Shrek and his beloved Princess Fiona, Minions from Despicable Me, and the mischievous penguins from Madagascar. Be sure to visit all six of Universal Studios Singapore’s themed zones!

2. Haw Par Villa

Formerly known as the Tiger Balm Gardens (since it was founded by the same guy behind Tiger Balm), Haw Par Villa is the perfect theme park to visit for both fun and learning. This cultural theme park was built in 1937 and features over 1000 sculptures based on Chinese literature, folklore, legend, and history. Haw Par Villa’s number one attraction is their Hell’s Museum which showcases the ten different Courts of Hell. Look forward to discovering which punishment is assigned to each sin — an experience that might make you think twice before committing it.

3. KidZania Singapore

Another theme park in Singapore that blends education and fun is KidZania, but this one’s mostly for the kiddos. In this mini replica of a town, children can imagine themselves as pilots, scientists, bankers, chefs, doctors, firefighters, and so much more. Far from just fantasising, KidZania also offers hands-on experiences, allowing children to perform real-life tasks just like adults in their various professions would. They can learn new skills, gain self-awareness, build confidence, and most importantly, have the time of their lives.

With a name like Science Centre Singapore, you can’t expect to visit this theme park without learning a thing or two. It will definitely take more than a day to experience the Laser Maze Challenge, Kinetic Garden, Professor Crackitt’s Light Fantastic Mirror Maze, Going Viral Travelling Exhibition, Waterworks, Urban Mutations, and so much more.
