Gear Up and Cycle for Better Health at Let’s Ride! Singapore, A Virtual Cycling Event

Join the challenge and reach the distance for your health!

Calling all cycle experts, beginners, and enthusiasts alike! Let’s Ride! Singapore invites everyone to a month-long virtual cycling event from 14 August to 10 September 2022. Organized by Mirxes, a Singapore-headquartered biotechnology company, this interactive event encourages all Singaporeans to participate by gearing up and joining the cycling challenge to reach the distance for their health.

The overall theme this year is ‘Go the Distance: Be Healthy, Stay Safe’ where it aims to also promote health and wellness as well as road safety and etiquette. People are in charge of their own health and should maintain a healthy and fit lifestyle through regular physical activities. 

What to Expect In The Virtual Cycling Event

Opening Ceremony

Details:

Date:14 August 2022 (Sunday)
Time:9.30am – 12.00pm
Venue:Bayfront Event Space (next to Marina Bay Sands)

The public is invited to the opening ceremony, where the cycling event officially launches. During the launch, people can expect live talks, stage games, best-dressed cyclist competition, a lucky draw to win $3,000 worth of prizes, and interactive exhibition booths. 

Aside from those, people can bring home a *goodie bag and enjoy *free food and drinks from partner brands such as Old Chang Kee, Good Burger, Coffee Bandits, Gatorade, and more. *While stocks last

There will also be free health check for those in attendance, redeemed through the partner clinics. The basic wellness package includes a check-up for hypertension, diabetes, and cholesterol levels. Participants will be offered a free life insurance cover from Singlife with AVIVA if they qualify after check-up.

Virtual Cycling Event

Fee:$20 (Inclusive of GST) with a FREE Event T-shirt upon registration

The virtual event is based on the mileage of the participants – where they can ride anytime, anywhere. It is divided into three different categories: road bikes; foldable bikes; mountain/hybrid bikes. 

To further encourage cycling and movement from the cyclists, tasks are given weekly to them where they can complete and in return, gifts will be given to those who complete the challenges on time. Expect gifts such as arm sleeves, socks, a drawstring bag and a finisher medal to be given away.

There are other contests where participants are automatically qualified to join in:

  • Century Ride Contest – Mostly for advanced or seasoned riders where they are challenged to complete the most number of 100km within the 4-week period.
  • Best Photo Contest – Designed for social and recreational bikers, leisure riders of friends and family that visit beautiful parks and scenery. Capture the best moments or views and upload them online. The top 3 most liked photos will win a prize!


The participants are encouraged to link their Strava accounts so they can track their progress. Some of the prizes that can be won in the event include vouchers for a folding bike, cycling kits, and Insta360 Go Cameras, and many more. The major prizes that virtual cycle participants can win are either a Brompton Bikes or an Apple Watch.

Closing Ceremony

To close the ceremony, a charity event will be organized as a part of MiRXES’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

To cover a total of 20,000km, 300 cyclists are invited to participate to help collectively raise funds for NCIS Cancer Fund, which aims to support fortunate cancer patients with critically needed treatments. At the end of the challenge, cyclists will submit their mileage records. MiRXES will donate SG$1 for every kilometre recorded during the charity cycle,  in addition to a base amount of SG$50,00. The cheque will be presented to the NCIS Cancer Fund at the end of the event.
