Do you know their famous parents?
By: Astrid Zulhaime / February 20, 2024

Okay, Dakota Johnson, we get it. Everyone in the entertainment industry is tired of reading the phrase “nepo baby.” But that doesn’t mean us common folk feel the same way. The famous children of celebrities continue to pique our interest here at Glitz — how could they not? It’s always an exciting revelation to find out that an up-and-coming star is related to a celebrity we know and adore. More often than not, it leads to a game of “spot the physical similarities,” where a fun time is had by all.

But let’s take Miss Johnson off the hook and keep the spotlight away from the nepo babies in Hollywood. Instead, we’re focusing on the latest influx of nepo babies in fashion, strutting their stuff down the runway and posing in editorials, largely thanks to their connections. Did you know that a nepo baby has very recently made his runway debut at New York Fashion Week? Keep reading to find out the name of this new generation nepo baby in fashion — and most importantly, who he’s related to.

The Next Generation Nepo Babies in Fashion

1. Lila Moss

You only get one guess as to who 22-year-old Lila Moss is related to because, come on, it couldn’t be more obvious. The only child of English supermodel and 90’s icon Kate Moss, Lila already has several Vogue magazine covers under her belt, including British Vogue’s March 2024 Legendary Issue shown above. The younger Moss is sat on a stool on the far right, sharing Edward Enninful’s last British Vogue cover with 39 legendary women in entertainment. Considering Moss has already walked and posed for major designer brands like Marc Jacobs, Miu Miu, Coperni, and more, it’s safe to say that she’s on the way to gaining legendary status herself.

2. Iris Law

On the topic of industry connections, few were born with as many superstar contacts as 24-year-old Iris Law. The daughter of English actors Jude Law and Sadie Frost, Iris is also the goddaughter of supermodel Kate Moss and is childhood friends with Lila Moss. At this point, it’s a no-brainer for Law to embark on a career in both modeling and acting — it’s in her genes. She has appeared in campaigns and advertorials for Burberry, Miu Miu, Marc Jacobs, La Perla, Calvin Klein, and even walked for Versace. Law also portrayed recurring character Soo Catwoman in Pistols, a 2022 British biographical drama miniseries about the band Sex Pistols. Iris Law can clearly do it all.

3. Daniel Julez J. Smith Jr.

Remember how we mentioned a nepo baby’s recent runway debut at New York Fashion Week? It was none other than 20-year-old Daniel Julez J. Smith Jr., son of Solange Knowles and nephew to Beyoncé. As a family member of the most powerful stars in entertainment, Smith Jr. has been spotted at many events organised by America’s power couple, Jay-Z and Beyoncé, over the years. This month, it was their turn to support Smith Jr.’s runway debut at the Luar Fall 2024 fashion show and Beyoncé did not disappoint. The superstar showed up and sat front row alongside Smith Jr.’s mother, Solange and grandmother, Tina Knowles, all there to witness him strut down the catwalk for the first time. Will Smith Jr. stand out as one of the next generation nepo babies in fashion? Only time will tell.

4. Deva Cassel

We hope you’re familiar with Monica Bellucci, a stunning Italian actress and model who played the oldest Bond girl in history (50 years old) in 2015’s Spectre. Deva Cassel is her eldest daughter, whom she shares with ex-husband, French actor Vincent Cassel. Not only was Cassel born with familial connections in the entertainment industry, she was also blessed with her parents’ gorgeous looks, particularly her mother’s. It’s no wonder the 20-year-old turned to modelling in her tender teenage years and can now count covers on Italian Vogue and Vogue Turkey as some of her career achievements. Cassel has also walked the runway for Courreges, Coperni, Dolce and Gabbana, and Jacquemus’ latest Les Sculptures fashion show during Paris Fashion Week. This Italian beauty has all the makings of a supermodel.

5. Yumi Nu

Yumi Nootenboom, professionally known as Yumi Nu, is not only a Japanese-American model but a singer-songwriter as well. Niece to 2000’s icon and it-girl Devon Aoki, Nu hails from generations of entertainment industry nepotism thanks to the Aoki restaurateur family fortune. The 27-year-old is the first ever plus-sized model to grace both the cover of Vogue Japan in 2022 and the Swimsuit issue of Sports Illustrated. Apart from the Japan edition, Nu has numerous Vogue covers to her name, including American Vogue, Vogue Hong Kong, Teen Vogue, plus an editorial spread in this month’s issue of Vogue China. Here at Glitz, we are unrelenting champions of diversity and inclusivity, so we can’t help but to cheer on Yumi Nu’s amazing career, you go girl!
