The Humble Scoop, a new ice cream parlour in the East, is located in the basement of this ancient retail centre. You’ll recognise the In-Kueh-dible, which is a salted coconut and gula Melaka mixture, as well as other delectable flavours.

2. Apiary

ADDRESS84 Neil Rd, Singapore 088844
OPERATING HOURSEvery day (12pm – 11pm)

Apiary’s approach is simple flavours done very well. Classic scents like Ferrero Rocher, pistachio (made using Sicilian pistachio for a nuttier intensity), and black sesame are popular at the minimalist ice cream shop on Neil Road. Blue Milk, which is coloured with butterfly pea blossoms, and Pink Peppercorn are two examples of successful experimental concoctions. There are around 18 flavours available at any given time, two of which are always sorbets.

3. Bread and Butterfly

It’s run by the same individuals that own Saveur, a French restaurant. The waffle cones are scented with lavender, and the flavours are based on botanical themes. Apple cucumber, strawberry tomato, white chocolate miso, and blue vanilla with smoky Black Sea salt are just a few of the flavours that include unusual ingredients like tomatoes and miso.

4. Momolato Café

ADDRESS34 Haji Ln, Singapore 189227
OPERATING HOURSWeekday (12pm – 11pm), Weekend (12pm – 2am)
CONTACTS+65 9679 7268

This tropical-themed ice cream shop on Haji Lane can help you beat the heat. Sharon Tay founded Momolato Cafe with the goal of capturing the flavour of luscious fruits in her frozen concoctions.

Additionally, the bright wallpaper and rattan fittings assist to lighten the area and making it a happy place to enjoy some tasty delights. Choose from 18 distinct blends, including a tangy Kochi Yuzu Shiso and a layered Hojicha with oolong overtones. It can be served in a cup or with a crispy pandan waffle cone.

5. Island Creamery

ADDRESS559 Bukit Timah Rd, #01-01, Singapore 269695
OPERATING HOURSEvery day (11am – 9pm)
CONTACTS+65 6468 8859

Tanglin, the iconic-esque of Singapore’s boutique ice cream sector is dedicated to promoting regional flavours. There’s the expected durian and milo, as well as more odd treats like Pulut Hitam, tiger beer sorbet, and even Singapore Milk, created with cow’s milk from a nearby farm. The ice cream at Island Creamery is dense and delicious, but it’s worth noting that it’s made without eggs or gelatin – just milk, fresh cream, and a lot of churning. The prices are really reasonable, and we enjoy the relaxed, neighbourhood atmosphere.

6. No Horse Run

ADDRESS160 Yishun Street 11, #01-216, Singapore 760160
OPERATING HOURSEvery day (2pm – 2am)
CONTACTS+65 9667 4849

Jason Lee and Chia Jia Ho, two friends who formed No Horse Run, have stated that their goal is to combine modern trends with local memories. As a result, the menu features a variety of unique flavours. Directly translated from the Hokkien phrase ‘bo beh zao,’ which means unparalleled and unique. No Horse Run has the potential to be a dark horse in town’s upscale ice cream parlour scene.

Additionally, there are some premium flavours, such as Cereal Mai Pian, which tastes just like cereal and milk, and Burnt White Chocolate, which is rich and somewhat smoky.

7. Dopa Dopa Creamery

ADDRESS29 South Bridge Rd, #01-01, Singapore 058665
OPERATING HOURSMonday to Saturday (12pm – 10pm), Sunday (Closed)
CONTACTS+65 6535 3539

Dopa Dopa Creamy, unlike other ice cream shops, hides its ice cream under Pozetti metal covers. The silky, creamy gelato, on the other hand, is enough to keep you going back. It’s delicious on its own or sandwiched between two crunchy croissants. Our recommendation is to have your pastry packed with Genmaicha, brown butter crumble, pistachio, and other goodies.

Additionally, Dopa Dopa Creamery will deliver you a jolt of dopamine with every bite, with flavours including Raspberry Milk and Mango Pear Sorbet.

8. Merely

ADDRESS91 Bencoolen St, #01-13, Singapore 189652
OPERATING HOURSMonday to Saturday (12pm – 10pm), Sunday (Closed)
CONTACTS+65 8874 5760

Merely has been offering scoops of bliss to their happy consumers since 2012, with a complete variety of 31 distinct flavours on rotation. Merely periodically shakes things up with seasonal sweets or breath-taking   R&D discoveries, in addition to blockbusters like Salted Butterscotch and Oreo Milk. Our particular favourite is the Orange Meringue, which has meringue chunks weaved into it for a zesty bite. Merely’s ice cream is created from scratch, with single portions beginning at $3.30, so consumers can enjoy the quality and freshness of their ingredients.

9. Matchaya

OPERATING HOURSEvery day (10am – 10pm)
CONTACTS+65 8157 0296

Matchaya is a locally owned business, yet its Nihonesque soft-serve rivals some of Japan’s best. Matcha, Houjicha, Goma, and Hokkaido milk are the only four flavours available. They do, however, regularly release seasonal varieties like Sakura and Ichigo. The soft-serve is delicious on its own, but you can also top it with traditionally Japanese toppings like Kinako powder and Warabi mochi.

In addition, the Cathay shop includes a tiny dine-in corner where they serve matcha, Houjich, and sesame Kakigori and fondue.

10. Birds of Paradise

Birds of Paradise, which has large lines at its Jewel store, has become a go-to dessert destination for anybody passing through the airport mall. Their herb-infused gelato selection features fruits, flowers, basil, and blue ginger, bringing the South East Asian flavour to the tip of your tongue.
