You heard that right! It’s time to wipe down all the dust on your travel bags and renew your passport because you can now travel without quarantine. As we move towards learning to live with the Covid-19 virus, more and more activities are starting to open. But the one that we look forward to the most is being able to travel again. And no, we’re not talking about just going to Sentosa, we meant travelling to another country! However, we understand your concerns about wasting time just for quarantine. Thus, Singapore is introducing the Singapore Vaccinated Travel Lanes (VTL). With this, travellers can travel to a few countries without needing to quarantine. At Glitz, we bring you the ultimate guide on these travel lanes.

Passengers who are completely immunised can fly to Singapore without being quarantined thanks to the Vaccinated Travel Lane. There are currently VTLs in place with 32 countries. Most of which allow Singaporeans who have been properly vaccinated to travel without quarantine. Therefore, you no longer need to undergo quarantine when visiting these countries on vacation. However, you might still need to take Covid tests before leaving Singapore, while travelling, and upon your return.

Eligibility

Travellers must meet the Singapore Vaccinated Travel Lanes (VTL) eligibility standards to travel without quarantine. Otherwise, they may be turned away by airlines/immigration or subjected to the current health requirements and quarantine. Travellers who are not eligible for the Singapore Vaccinated Travel Lanes (VTL) can click here to learn about other Safe Travel Lanes. Citizens and Permanent Residents of Singapore who do not meet the VTL eligibility criteria will be subject to current health measures. On the other hand, all other visitors to Singapore may be denied entrance.

Firstly, travellers must have spent the previous 14 days in any VTL country or region before arriving in Singapore. Furthermore, they must also test negative in a valid pre-departure COVID-19 ART or PCR test. These must be taken at a laboratory or centre within 2 calendar days before departure for Singapore.

In terms of vaccination, all travellers must be completely vaccinated and produce digital proof of vaccination recognised by Singapore authorities. The digital proof can be issued in any VTL country or Singapore. However, it is important to note that unvaccinated children under the age of 12 can travel to Singapore on the VTL via land. This is only applicable if they are accompanied by a fully vaccinated VTL traveller. In addition, children under the age of 2 in the calendar year will not need to undergo any covid testing.
