So you’ve seen the elaborate outfits at the Met Gala – but you’re not sure what exactly is the Met Gala. Well, the Met Gala is essentially a fundraising dinner that happens annually and is for the benefit of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in New York. Blake Lively has never let us down when it comes to her Met Gala looks. Thus, it’s why she’s our top pick for this year’s Met Gala 2022 best dressed. She arrived in a beautiful Versace gown that she later unwrapped on the Met’s steps to show another beneath it. Blake was later interviewed, where she revealed the inspirations for the blue and gold accents. She mentions that her dress represented the Statue of Liberty and the Empire State Building.

Billie Eilish was hands down one of the Met Gala 2022 best dressed. She came in a stunning Gucci gown with a corset and green lace sleeves. Even though this was only her second appearance at the Met Gala, she still managed to win the crowd. We can’t wait for her next Met Gala!

The next on our Met Gala 2022 best dressed list is none other than Kim Kardashian, who showed up in a vintage Jean-Louis gown. This gown was the exact one worn by fashion icon Marilyn Monroe in 1962 when she sang “Happy Birthday Mr President” to John F Kennedy. In order to fit into the gown that was unable to be altered, she lost weight and even dyed her hair platinum blonde, just like Marilyn. However, after the red carpet, Kim changed into a replica, to ensure the vintage piece did not spoil.

Megan looked absolutely breathtaking, which is why she’s one of our top picks when it comes to the Met Gala 2022 best dressed. The golden Moschino gown sparkled in the limelight and fit extremely well with the theme, which many seem to overlook. While her shoulder pads made her look like a Golden Snitch from Harry Potter, she looks stunning as ever.
5. Kaia Gerber
While we feel Kaia’s outfit largely focuses on her hair, we’re also equally in love with her silver Alexander McQueen gown. As one of the Met Gala 2022 best dressed, she literally looks like she belongs in an Alphonse Mucha painting.

Jessica Chastain was truly one of the Met Gala 2022 best dressed, giving her outfit a contemporary yet traditional look. She looked amazing in a beautiful burgundy Gucci gown with sequins, over-the-top flowy sleeves and a matching Gucci headpiece. As she walked down the red carpet, we just couldn’t stop looking at her!

One of the Met Gala 2022 best dressed, Quannah Chasinghorse paid homage to her Han Gwich’in and Oglala Lakota legacy. She walked down the red carpet in a beautiful Prabal Gurung gown with traditional Indigenous adornments. Though not in theme, we really love this look by Quannah and can’t wait for more in the next few years.

Simple yet beautiful, Laura Harrier is definitely one of the Met Gala 2022 best dressed and on theme too. Alongside a custom Glemaud metallic square-neck gown, Laura also paired the dress with velvet opera gloves. Other than that, she accessorizes with a thick necklace and dainty earrings.

With the theme, you would probably expect a lot of crystal embellishments throughout the red carpet. But Janelle Monáe’s gleaming ensemble is what makes the Met Gala 2022 best dressed for sure. The closer you get to Janelle’s outfit, the reflection of the light makes it mesmerising. Her crimson lips also go perfectly with the stunning headpiece.
10. Jodie Turner-Smith
Jodie Turner-Smith was one of the few celebrities who was on theme with ‘Gilded Glamour’. As one of the Met Gala 2022 best dressed, Jodie took us back in time to 1920. Beading, fringed, and full-length Gucci leotards along with ’70s hair made her look like a star from the period.

We love the volume that Gigi used in her Versace outfit, which earns her the Met Gala 2022 best dressed. Underneath the floor-length puffer coat, the model and new mom wore a burgundy latex catsuit. Gigi looks stunning and we’re loving it!

Of course, we had to put Michelle Yeoh on the Met Gala 2022 best dressed list. Sporting custom Prabal Gurung, Michelle walked the red carpet in a beautiful lily pad green hue. Alongside a chunky necklace and matching bracelets, she looks breathtaking.

Versace made a special gold gown for Cardi B that was embroidered and form-fitting which took over 1,300 hours to make. But we have to say, she’s definitely on our list of the Met Gala 2022 best dressed. Her golden gown really did capture the essence of the ‘Gilded Glamour’ theme perfectly.
14. Hailey Bieber
In a nod to Jerry Hall, Hailey Bieber chose a Saint Laurent outfit for this year’s Met Gala. Aside from the fact that the outfit isn’t new, it was a charming nod and she still looked stunning. And we think she definitely deserves to be on our list of the Met Gala 2022 best dressed.
15. Kendall Jenner
Kendall has a knack for getting the most out of a dress, and her Met Gala ensemble is no exception. This year, she wore the biggest dress on the Met Gala steps, shining bright in black. The Prada gown features an extravagant ruched black skirt and we’re living for it.
